Recipe Korean wraps with chicken and fresh vegetables

Korean wraps with chicken and fresh vegetables

Korea cooks with fresh, simple ingredients. They give a lot of flavor to the dish. A big advantage is that you can often put together your own meal.

Bowls with small dishes will be placed, with which you can choose what you like. This also applies to these wraps, which you only prepare and invest on your plate. The original HelloFresh recipe contains steak strips, which we replaced with chicken breast.

Ingredients – 4 persons

  • 400 grams of chicken fillet
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 shallot
  • 4 cm fresh ginger
  • 60 m soy sauce
  • 6 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 4-5 tsp sugar
  • 1 red lombok pepper
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 box of fresh coriander (15 g)
  • 1 lime
  • 8 large tortilla wraps
  • 250 gr finely chopped white cabbage or iceberg lettuce

Preparation method (preparation time approx. 25-30 minutes)

Chop the garlic as finely as possible. Peel the ginger and grate or slice it as finely as possible. Clean the pepper and also finely chop it.

Mix the pepper, garlic, ginger, soy sauce and olive oil in a bowl. Cut the chicken fillet into strips or cubes and stir into the mixture. Let it marinate for half an hour.

Cut the cucumber into thin ribbons or slices. Mix the white wine vinegar with the sugar and cucumber in a bowl. Taste and season with some salt.

Is the taste too sour?? Add some sugar. If it is too sweet, add some white wine vinegar.

Refrigerate until ready to use.

Coarsely chop the coriander and cut the lime into wedges. Heat the tortilla wraps as indicated on the package.

Heat a frying pan over medium heat and fry the chicken pieces until cooked through and browned in about 8-10 minutes.

Serve the warm wraps on a heated plate. Place the cabbage or lettuce in a bowl. serve with the cucumber, chicken strips, pieces of lime and coriander. Let the diners put together their own wrap:

  • Start with a wrap
  • Spread cabbage or lettuce generously over it
  • Divide warm chicken strips over it
  • Add some cucumber on top for a fresh bite
  • Squeeze some lime juice over the wrap
  • Sprinkle with coriander
  • Roll up the wrap

If there are guests who do not like certain ingredients, they can choose to omit them. A big advantage of Korean wraps is that even picky eaters can put together their own wrap in this way. The wraps are quite healthy and of course also very tasty.

Enjoy your meal!
